Post Subject: cardiac arrhythmiaI have a 20 year old daughter with Cardiac Arrhythmia. She is a lifeguard and swim instructor as well as a PADI Rescue diver with over 200 dives logged in 8 years. She is currently in Cairns, Australia to do a DM course. She had her medical exam on Saturday, which she failed when the Dr. saw her Medic Alert bracelet said Cardiac Arrhythmia. She has been cleared for diving by a Cardiologist in the UK, prior to departing for Australia. The Australian Dr. said she could dive recreationally, but not professionally with this condition. Is this condition subject to cardiologist appraisal or will it be impossible to pass a Divemaster medical? Your advice would be greatly appreciated, as she is waiting to start the course!
