Beaver Contour drysuit comes up trumps
Posted: Wed Feb 06, 2008 4:02pm
If you've been following my updates in the mag on the Beaver Contour drysuit in Long Term Test, you'll be aware I signed off in February with an end of term report that ended on a bit of an edge.
Over six months with the suit I'd had a few problems with the shoulder dump valve, which wouldn't sit high enough on my shoulder to effectively dump air.
A reader emailed and suggested I twist the arm of the suit before putting my arm in. The wrist seal should then hold the arm 'twisted' and push the dump valve higher ono my shoulder.
After trying this last week I'm pleased to say there was a noticeable improvement, so thanks Ray Chamberlain for the advice! I'm hanging onto the Contour for a few more weeks probably, so I'll have more chances to dive without this little hassle.
