Sport Diver Awards 2012

Nominate your favourite companies and people - and be in with the chance of winning one of two awesome prizes worth over £5,500 each!

The Sport Diver Awards are back! Following a year’s hiatus, the UK scuba industry’s biggest magazine is once again offering you the opportunity to acknowledge all that you deem worthy - and be in with the chance to win one of two prizes of more than £5,500 worth of dive kit, courses and holidays.

There is a variety of categories covering all aspects of diving, from Best Manufacturer to Best Tour Operator. Quite simply, we think it is important that those companies and people who provide great products and/or services deserve a mention for making our sport what it is.

Voting is simple. All you have to do is send in a text detailing which category you would like to vote in and who it is you’re supporting - there is no limit on how many categories you vote in, or how many times you can vote. Simply send in a text to 80058 as detailed below, entering the relevant code depending on which category you are voting in.

SD VOTE [CODE] [ANSWER] [EMAIL]

Example: SD VOTE RETAIL SIMPLY SCUBA A.N.OTHER@HOTMAIL.COM.

Texts to 80058 cost 50p plus your standard network rate, and you get a free text for every two paid-for texts.

The winners will each be acknowledged and awarded a trophy at the industry-renowned Sport Diver Party at the London International Dive Show in late-March.

Every single vote will go into the prize draw, and there are two hoards of goodies up for grabs, worth a total of over £11,000!

THE CATEGORIES:

Best Manufacturer  (Code: MANS)
Quality equipment can make all the difference to a dive. Is there a manufacturer you think churns out unparalleled gear time after time? If there is, let us know, because we feel such folk should be recognised for the benefits they bring to the diving community.

Best Tour Operator (Code: TOUR)
Have you had the ultimate dive experience recently? Tour operators obviously play an integral part in making our dive holidays what they are, and this is your opportunity to tip the proverbial hat to those you deem to be truly outstanding.

Best Liveaboard (Code: LIVE)
The quality of a liveaboard can make or break a trip. Generally home for at least a week, it is important customers feel comfortable and looked after. If you’ve stayed on a particularly well-run boat, with great staff and a fabulous itinerary, why not let the dive community know about it by casting a vote?

Best UK Dive Centre (Code: UK)
Here at Sport Diver we love UK diving and get in the water as much as possible. Our coastline (and interior) is littered with quality centres offering fantastic local diving and dive trips. If you think there’s one centre that trumps the rest, now’s the time to give it a shout-out.

Best Overseas Dive Centre (Code: OS)
The overseas dive market is hugely competitive, particularly in world-renowned hotspots such as the Red Sea’s Sharm el Sheikh. It is awards such as this that allow the truly exceptional dive centres to stand out from the crowd, thrive, and continue to offer such wonderful service to the diving community.

Best Retailer (Code: RETAIL)
With such an array of diving gear on the market, a well-stocked and informative retailer can be the difference between money well spent and money wasted. Diving’s not the cheapest of sports, so it’s essential you get your decisions right. Is there a retailer you think offers an unparalleled level of product range and service quality?

Best Product (Code: PROD)
We’ve all got one piece of kit we love just that little bit more than the rest, whether it is a particularly comfortable BCD or an outlandish pair of fins. If there is a product that you think tops all others - regardless of whether it’s an innovative game-changer or just seriously cool - have your say here.

Best PADI Instructor (Code: PADI)
Completing a PADI course, whether it is your Open Water or your Instructorship, takes time and effort. Our teachers ultimately have a huge impact on both whether or not we pass and our competence as a diver beyond that. Excellent teachers should be acknowledged for the good of the sport, and this is your chance to rave about someone deserving.

Best dive-related website (Code: WEB)
Is there a dive-related website that you return to again and again, whether to get tips on what kit to buy, which tour operator to use, or even just to chat with your buddies? If so, let us know. The best dive hub out there deserves a Sport Diver gong! (And no, you can’t vote for www.sportdiver.co.uk).
