Prestigious chamber course held in Cyprus

The eight-programme was attended by Doctors and Staff from Thailand, Mexico, UK, Cyprus, Germany, Zanzibar, Palau and Holland so this was truly an International affair and one that will definitely benefit divers worldwide with more Hyperbaric Qualified Doctors out there to deal with Diving Emergencies especially in the more remote locations that are becoming more and more accessible to travelling divers nowadays.
The main lecturer was Dr Frans Cronje from DAN SA, with supporting faculty members - Francois Burman, Nuclear Engineer and a regular lecturer at numerous USA and Worldwide Hyperbaric seminars, Lucie Cronje, Hyperbaric Nurse, Clive Martin - PADI Master Instructor, Managing Director of Dive-In and Chamber Operator/Owner and Harry Barthel - PADI IDC Staff Instructor, CHT and Chamber Operator.

The course is presented under the auspices of, and accredited by, the University of Stellenbosch (US) and the European College of Baromedicine (ECB). It meets the requirements for European Committee for Hyperbaric Medicine (ECHM) Level I and affords Level II (b) certification upon the completion of some additional internet-based training and assessment components through US. The activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint sponsorship of the Undersea & Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS) and the Southern African Undersea & Hyperbaric Medical Association (SAUHMA). The DHMSTC has been recognised by the UHMS as a Designated Introductory Course in Hyperbaric Medicine. The National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology (NBDHMT) recognises the course as the minimum academic requirement to apply for writing the Certified Hyperbaric Technologist exam. www.dive-in.com.cy
