Pet owner calls in diver to rescue terrapin from pond

A worried pet owner called in a diver to complete a search and rescue of her garden pond over the Christmas period after one of her terrapins went missing.

Debbie Smy was transferring her three terrapins from the garden to an indoor tank for the winter when she failed to find Dilys, a red-eared female.

Concerned, she contacted local media asking for help, which duly arrived in the form of experienced diver, Martin Woodward.

After a 20-minute mission in zero visibility, reaching a maximum depth of 1.2m, Martin eventually resurfaced with a sleepy Dilys, much to the delight of her owner.
