New dive centre to open in French Polynesia
Dive operator Werner Lau has announced it is to open a new dive centre in Fakarava, French Polynesia.
The venture has been undertaken in cooperation with Extra Divers Worldwide Diving Centers. The centre will open for business on 15 October, 2012.
The 3- to 4-star White Sands Beach Resort has 30 modern equipped bungalows. As well as excellent diving, it will boast great snorkeling, swimming and extensive walking. It is being heralded as a paradise for those seeking peace and quit.
Fakarava itself is part of the Tuamoto archipelago, offering divers the chance to experience the breath-taking beauty of the South Sea and some of the world’s best dive spots, which offer both beautiful reefs and big fish.
A spokesperson for Werner Lau said: “We are talking about the best shark place in the world. Hundreds of grey sharks per dive is and understatment - it could be thousands!
“An extraordinary diversity of species and a lot of schooling fish await. We dive with schools of grey reef sharks, black tip reef sharks, hammerhead and lemon sharks, silver tip sharks, manta rays, dolphins as well as big and small Napoleon wrasses at the dive sites of South and North Pass in Fakarava atoll and at the nearly untouched sites of Toau atoll.”
