Legendary underwater filmmakers die in chopper crash
Two legends of the underwater filmmaking world have died in a helicopter crash.
Cinematographer Mike deGruy and writer-producer Andrew Wight died on Sunday after their chopper went down in eastern Australia. The pair were on assignment for National Geographic.
The helicopter went down shortly after taking off from an airstrip less than 100 miles north of Sydney.
DeGruy won a multitude of awards for his work in the filmmaking industry, including a number of Emmys and BAFTAs. Wight was best known for writing and producing the 3D dive movie Sanctum.
