Get set for MD Fest 2010

Millennium Divers Club will be holding its second national diving festival in Portland, Dorset on the weekend of 2-3 October.

The two-day MD Fest 2010 is open to any level of diver from any agency and is an ideal opportunity to end the summer season with an exciting twist. A range of free activities including scooter dives, equipment trials, rebreather workshops and free Global Underwater Explorers (GUE) experience workshops and dives will be held.

Single or twin wing systems, HID and EOS torches, heated vests, a range of scooters from Suex to Gavins and Halcyons, new Halcyon regulators and DUI dry suits are only some of the exciting products that will be on free trial both dry and underwater.

A 50-guest buffet at cost on Saturday night will host guest speakers Renato Raseta, of the Karst Odyssey Balkan Cave Diving Project, IANTD UK training director Phil Short and GUE UK training director Richard Walker as guest speakers presenting information on their most recent expeditions of international significance.

All of this year's dry (surface) workshops including GUE experience days conducted by three instructors will be free of charge. There will also be two days of Sentinel Rebreather try-dives conducted by Phil Short for a limited number of participants where in-water pool and sea sessions will be at cost.

MD Fest 2010 is sponsored by Underwater Explorers (UK), Silent Planet Ltd., Aqua Hotel, Scimitar Diving and a number of volunteer GUE, IANTD, TDI and PADI instructors.
