Fiji sponsors Bite-Back at Cancer Ball 2012
Tourism Fiji has signed as the title sponsor of the Bite-Back at Cancer Ball for the second year in a row.
More than 200 guests at the Underglobe (below Shakespeare’s Globe in central London) on Saturday 20 October can expect a memorable night complete with Fijian warriors and the chance to win a holiday of a lifetime to the stunning islands of Fiji.
Thanks to Tourism Fiji the Bite-Back at Cancer Ball raised a remarkable £19,500 for charity last year. The event coordinators are now hoping to generate record funds at this year’s event.
Stuart Keasley, spokesperson for the Bite-Back at Cancer Ball, said: “It’s so exciting to be working again with Fiji on this event. Fiji’s involvement adds a whole new dimension to what is already a fun, relaxed and classy evening. There isn’t a single person in the room who won’t be day-dreaming about visiting the amazing Fiji Islands with its world class soft coral.”
The fundraising event, now in its fifth year, is actively inviting divers and supporters from all over the UK to swap neoprene for night wear and dry suits for dinner suits in aid of Bite-Back Shark and Marine Conservation and Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Keasley said: “This is a perfect opportunity for dive clubs to bring their customers together at the country’s longest running and best social scuba event. We’d love to see more dive clubs join in and add the Ball to their annual club calendar.”
Tickets for the Ball cost £90 and include a three-course dinner, wine, entertainment, exclusive auction and disco. Tickets can be purchased at all good dive shops or online at www.simplyscuba.com - just type ‘Bite-Back at Cancer Ball’ into the search box.
