Anglesey ScubaFest, 8-9 September

Curious to find out what UK diving is like? Fancy a couple of days summer diving with your friends? Desperate to go diving but you're on a budget? Or do you just want a social weekend away by sea?
Whichever of the above applies to you, check out Anglesey ScubaFest, based at the Anglesey Outdoor Centre, on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 September. It doesn't matter what kind of diver you are, there is going to be a range of different activities for all levels, including unlimited shore diving, a photography splash-in organised by the Northern Underwater Photography Group and your opportunity to try out the latest equipment from the likes of Apeks, Aqualung, Mares, Hollis, Oceanic and Suex.
Got burning questions about diver training? BSAC, PADI and SSI will be on hand to give you answers, and you can also join in the combined BSAC Underwater Litter Pick/Project AWARE Beach Clean-up.
Never scuba dived before? Now's your chance - sign up for a PADI Discover Scuba Experience dive. And if you’ve never tried freediving, why not get your name down for an SSI Static Apnea workshop?
There’s plenty for all the family, too, including marine facepainting and a beachcombing course specifically aimed at children, and on the Saturday night there is a hog roast, sponsored by Suunto, along with live music.
Sport Diver will be there in force, so join editor Mark Evans and deputy editor Will Harrison, who will be interviewing divers, taking video and photographs, and getting a dive or two in as well.

Where to stay

There’s a plethora of accommodation options to suit everyone's pockets at the Anglesey Outdoor Centre, from camping at £19 per head through to a bed in a shared room at £69. Whichever option you choose, your weekend accommodation pass includes access to all the activities of the ScubaFest, plus breakfast on Saturday and Sunday morning, tea and coffee throughout the weekend, as well as a ticket to the Suunto hog roast on the Saturday night.
