World's Best: Papua Paradise Eco Resort

Papua Paradise Eco Resort lies along the pristine shoreline of the uninhabited island of Birie, Raja Ampat. Built in traditional style, entirely out of locally-sourced materials, and in partnership with the inhabitants of the local village, the resort offers an exceptionally high standard of comfort and service, while maintaining eco-tourism values.

The water bungalows, inspired by local architecture, are built on stilts and made with traditional materials sourced locally. Each bungalow has essential facilities.

Directly beneath the room balconies the resort's nursery of juvenile blacktip reef sharks can be seen. Moray eels, blue spotted rays and various other beautiful tropical fish are a constant presence along the house reef.
Gangga Divers Diving Center, a well-known PADI five-star centre, operates according to the best safety standards and offers a personalised service. More than 45 dive sites are easily reachable from the resort and a 2km-long house reef is suitable for both divers and snorkelers.

Life under the waterline

Featuring a total of 16 Superior and eight Deluxe over-water bungalows with spacious verandas with views of the house reef, all rooms are stylishly designed to suit visitors' demands.
